As a blogger, I know that one of the most important parts of my work day is editing photos. Previously a lot of bloggers and scrapbookers used Picnik for their collage needs. But now, with Picnik no longer available, many are asking ‘Where can I make collages?!” Some, including myself, use more complex programs like Photoshop – but that takes time and a great deal of trial and error to learn all of the ins and outs of the program. With CollageIt – there is no learning curve. Everyone can easily drag, click and save. Tah dah! Perfect collages in minutes. It’s really that easy.
CollageIt allowed me to take a test spin with the new Pro version of their popular collage program. I have to say I found it to be extremely easy and offered great results.
So exactly how easy is it?
Step 1: Add Photos
Once you start the CollageIt program it will show you a screen of available pre-designed templates. After selecting the design you need the main control panel opens and you can get started with your photos. All you have to do is select how many photos you’d like to use and then drag them directly from their folder into the CollageIt list. From there you drag them into the spots where you want them to show up. You can also click ‘Random Layout’ if you want to see how they’d look in different designs. When you do that – your photo list is automatically sent into the collage. That’s as easy as ONE click!
Step 2: Adjust Your Options
You can control everything from the space between each photo, to the border size and color, to the background affect – shadows and more.
Step 3: Export Your Collage
One of the great things about CollageIt are the options you have once you’re finished. You can download it to your computer, share it on Facebook or Flickr, email it to someone or set it as your desktop background.
Here is a collage I created in less than 5 minutes:
The original saved image was 2480 x 3507 – so the high resolution file allows you to also print your collages for framing!
